A vaidya, a pharmacy, and a formula that did not change
In 1929, a vaidya opened a small Ayurvedic pharmacy in Kerala. He worked the way Kerala had always worked: slowly, by hand, with plants he knew by name and a set of formulations passed down rather than invented.
Ninety-seven years later, Bipha is still in the same family. Third generation. Same place. Same methods.
What has not changed
Our oils are still slow cooked. Not blended, not shortcut, not rushed to fill an order. Some take weeks, because that is what the classical texts ask for, and because the difference is real.
We still work from classical Ayurvedic formulations rather than reformulating them for shelf appeal. The ingredient list is the ingredient list.
What has
The pharmacy became a licensed manufacturing house. Today Bipha holds over 241 licensed formulations and manufactures in a GMP-certified facility in Kottayam, Kerala, with ISO, FSSAI and Halal certification.
Pharma-grade process. Grandmother-approved formula. We do not think those two things are in tension. Getting them both right is the whole point.
Why it matters to you
There is a lot of Ayurveda on the market now. Not all of it is Ayurveda.
What ninety-seven years buys you is not marketing. It is practice: knowing which plant, from where, prepared how, for what. That knowledge is not something a brand can acquire. It has to be kept.
