What's inside that really matters
Indigofera tinctoria (Indigo)
True Indigo, a plant that is native to India, is prescribed in ancient ayurvedic texts as a botanical that can prevent premature greying. Nila, is a natural hair dye created from the powdered leaves of the Indigo plant and is completely free of chemicals. It can deepen the colour in existing black hair and give it a lovely sheen if used alone. When combined with henna, it can create different hues of brown and black to lend beauty to your hair.
How to use
Hair Colouring Make a thick paste by combining the natural indigo powder with water. Wait for 15-20 minutes, but not longer than that. You can see the green paste turning slightly blue. Divide your hair into small sections and apply the paste throughly from root to tip wearing hand gloves and leave on for at least an hour. Secure your hair into a bun and cover your head with a shower cap. Completely grey hair will turn bluish. But when applied to hennaed hair, the colours combine to create jet black hair. The shade of indigo combined with henna will always differ depending on your natural hair colour.
